Dr. Wolfram Syré

Wolfram Syré studied the organ, harpsichord and musical science in Köln, Frankfurt/Main, Hamburg, Chemnitz, and Paris.

  • Student

    He was a student of Joseph Zimmermann, Michael Schneider, Heinz Wunderlich, Wolfgang Stockmeier, Marie-Claire Alain (organ) and Hugo Ruf (harpsichord).

  • Scholarship for mastercourses

    From DAAD he got a sholarship for mastercourses with Anton Heiller, Luigi-Fernando Tagliavini, Ton Koopman (organ) and Joos van Immerseel (harpsichord).

  • Master and soloist degrees

    He holds master and soloist degrees for organ and harpsichord and degrees as magister artium and Dr. phil. with a dissertation about the life and the compositions of Vincent Lübeck.

Dr. Wolfram Syré

Wolfram Syré wrote Essays in the musical magazines »Orgel International«, »Ars organi«, »Organ«, »Organists‘ Review« and in the encyclopaedia of music »MGG«, published various editions of organ music He also played broadcast- and TV-performances, LP- and CD-recordings, e. g. the complete organ works of Vincent Lübeck and Franz Tunder at the Arp-Schnitger-organs in Stade and in Norden.
He is a convinced user of the virtual organ system "Hauptwerk". He has produced more than 2.000 recorded performances of organ compositions since 2012 using this software.

He holds regular recital tours and masterclasses at international orgelfestivals in many European countries (Austria, Belgium, Estonia, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Latvia, Poland, Tschechia, The Nederlands, Norway, Suomi/Finnland, Sweden, Switzerland).

  • Pricewinner

    He is a prizewinner of the international organ competition in Bruges.

  • Artistic Director

    He was the artistic director of organ festivals at Bonn (D), Stade (D), and Sande (N). He was employed as organ expert by the Established Church of Hannover (D) and teacher for the Grieg-Akademiet in Bergen (N).

  • Braunschweig, Goslar, Osterode (Germany)

    He works now as organist at the Brüdernkirche St. Ulrici in Braunschweig, at St. Jacobus d. Ä. in Goslar, and at the Marktkirche St. Aegidien in Osterode am Harz, and as freelance recital organist.
